For the coming academic year, Prince Charitable Foundation, the charitable arm of Prince Holding Group ("Prince Group"), one of Cambodia's largest and fastest growing conglomerates, will sponsor Caring for Cambodia's Career Preparation programme, which provides free education to 7,000 impoverished students. The cooperation with Caring for Cambodia, which was announced on International Youth Day, demonstrates how Prince Group is embarking on a new path at a critical moment when youth unemployment is likely to rise as the COVID-19 epidemic scenario in Cambodia worsens. Prince Group hopes to invest in Cambodia's future by empowering and validating an institutional approach to youth development by supporting the Career Preparation programme. “We are pleased to partner with Prince Holding Group as we look to expand and enhance our Career Preparation program,” said Jamie Amelio, Founder and CEO of Caring for Cambodia. “In the new environment defined by the COVID-19 pa...

Donating Two Million More For Laos Effort

Neak Oknha Chen Zhi, Chairman of the Prince Holding Group, one of Cambodia's largest and fastest expanding businesses, has made a US$2 million donation to support the Laotian government in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Chen Zhi Cambodia had also provided $1 million earlier in September. Both donations reflected Prime Minister Hun Sen's call for the two neighbouring countries to boost bilateral COVID-19 collaboration. Guy Chhay, a board member of Prince Holding Group, completes the donation on Chen Zhi's behalf at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh. The two donations, which total US$3 million, are intended to assist the Laotian people in their fight against the pandemic. With Cambodia being one of the most vaccinated countries in the world, Chen Zhi, an entrepreneur and Mekong region business leader, understands how critical it will be for Cambodian enterprises to support surrounding countries' anti-COVID efforts. Prince Holding Group, as a significant Cambodia...

Strategy Of Rebranding For Future Plans

Perks Of ESG For People

Image
COVID-19 has emphasised the critical nature of environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) practises in businesses worldwide. However, there was talk of change even prior to the pandemic's outbreak. The Business Roundtable (a group of 181 CEOs of America's largest corporations) stated last year that businesses must "support the communities in which they operate," reversing the long-held focus on shareholder wealth maximisation advocated by American economist Milton Friedman. Times have changed in 2020. This year, Prince Holding Group (“PHG”), one of Cambodia's largest conglomerates under Prince Chenzhi , recognised this and paved the way for other businesses in the Kingdom to follow ESG principles. Since April, the Group has made several large-scale donations to aid in the fight against the pandemic and flood victims, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi, chairman of PHG, has been instrumental in securing the donations. For instance, in early December, Chen Zhi and PHG don...

Developing Agriculture In The Nation

Image
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused fundamental assumptions in various industries to be re-examined around the world. Environmental conservation is now a key component of Cambodia's agriculture sector recovery efforts, and Neak Oknha Chen Zhi ( Cambodia Chenzhi ) and Prince Group are leading the charge. According to CGIAR, the world's largest agricultural research network, agriculture is a mainstay in Cambodia, employing more than a third of the workforce, and the current crisis presents an opportunity for the sector to "build back better." Traditional farming practises that use fertilisers, pesticides, water-intensive processes, and legacy farming methods that contribute to increased deforestation and soil erosion must be phased out in developing countries like Cambodia. Chen Zhi and Prince Group launched the Ecological Agriculture Plantation at Prince Manor Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, earlier this year, a cutting-edge agricultural hub at a new real estate develop...
